12.21.8: Stanton Friedman on BoA:Audio's Holiday Special :: Preview

UPDATE: This week's episode will now be posted on Monday.

THIS WEEK: Stanton Friedman, Flying Saucers and Science, www.stantonfriedman.com

It's one BoA's proudest traditions, the 4th annual BoA:Audio Holiday Special featuring the "Father of Modern Day Ufology" Stanton Friedman. Coming on the heels of the publication of his self-proclaimed "magnus opus," Flying Saucers and Science, we discuss a number of elements to the new tome. We find out about Project Blue Book Special Report # 13, the mysterious "lost" Blue Book text, Stan's relationships and thoughts on legendary Ufologists James E. McDonald & J. Allen Hynek, his "feud" with Isaac Asimov, the crash of the nuclear rocket industry, plus big picture analysis like how to solve Ufology's public relations problems and Stan's thoughts on the state of Roswell in relation to mainstream media & science acceptance.

On top of all that, in the 2nd half of the program, we turn the questioning over to the members of the official BoA forum theusofe.com who had their chance to ask Friedman one question each. Via their contributions, we'll find out about his thoughts on the connection between UFOs & altered consciousness, his disagreements with Kevin Randle on Roswell, Ufology in a post-disclosure world, getting the media interested in UFOs, his opinion on what is the best abduction case ever, his feud with Paul Kimball, sabermetrics in baseball, the alleged 1969 Sverdlovsky UFO crash, why he doesn't subscribe to the Corso version of Roswell, the journal article 'Soverignty and the UFO', Project Blue Book Special Report #14, and where the US would be in space if it kept going to the moon.

In total (and in total honesty), it's one of the very best editions of BoA:Audio ever. An episode that will immediately go into our highlight reel and take its place amongst the classic episodes of this program. It's Stanton Friedman on the 4th Annual BoA:Audio Holiday Special and you do not want to miss it.

NEXT WEEK: Two Episodes ... Spread Out Over 4 Days ... 2008: The Year in Ufology with our special guests Nick Redfern & Greg Bishop (of UFO Mystic fame) taking part in BoA:Audio's first true dual interview. Both good friends of binnall, the conversation quickly turns into a roundtable discussion on the past year of UFO stories, both large and small, and spans over 3 hours (hence our splitting of the interview into halves).

On 12/30 (or thereabouts), Part One covers the first six months of the year, beginning with Nick and Greg trying to talk binnall down after he laments the series of UFO flops that was 2008. Then we discuss the Stephenville UFO sighting and subsequent mania, the debut of UFO Hunters, the alleged UN UFO meeting, another UK UFO file release, the Vatican endorsement of aliens, Jeff Peckman & the "alien video," the UK UFO flap from the Summer, and the 100th anniversary of the Tegunska event. Plus, remembrances of influential esoteric names Georgina Bruna, Arthur C. Clarke, and Albert Hoffman.

On 1/3 (or around that date), Part Two covers the latter half of 2008. We'll dissect the Edgar Mitchell UFO "disclosure," the Bigfoot Body Bonanza of mid-August, the Needles "UFO crash," Blossom Goodchild's UFO non-event, the election of Barack Obama and the subsequent UFO disclosure push, and the folding of Alien Worlds magazine. Plus, we remember Erik Bekjord and Monsignor Corrado Balducci, both of whom passed away this past year. Closing out the discussion, we also reflect on "what's hot" and "what's not" as 2008 comes to an end and what genres may be on the rise in 2009.
